QuakeCon 2015 is currently underway and Bethesda made good on its promise to showcase Fallout 4 to attendants of the large event in Texas. Fortunately, quite a few details have appeared from that presentation, confirming different mechanics that will appear in the post-apocalyptic role-playing experience.
Fallout 4 was revealed to the world in early June and stole the show at E3 2015 later that month thanks to solid presentations from developer and publisher Bethesda. The role-playing game is set to delight millions of fans this fall and the company saw fit to share a few more details about it at QuakeCon 2015, its own special fan convention.
All sorts of new details are now available
Fortunately for those who can't participate, DualShockers has a roundup of the many different details shared by Bethesda during its presentation.
First up, it seems that players will be able to explore plenty of interesting locations throughout the Boston area, including Diamond City, which was built on the ruins of Fenway Park, the stadium of the Boston Red Sox. A town called Lexington, as well as the Corvega power plant can also be explored.
There will be around 12 different companions in Fallout 4, including Dogmeat, Mr. Handy, a woman called Piper, and a man called Preston Garvey. Human companions can be romanced by players no matter the gender.
The terminal hacking and lock picking mechanics from Fallout 3 and New Vegas return in Fallout 4 and it doesn't seem that Bethesda has made any big changes to them.
Looting items now prompts a smaller list that no longer fills the whole screen, and you can even check your Pip-Boy in combat to pause everything and perform different actions.
There will also be bigger battles between the various factions fighting for control and players can stand back or get right into the thick of things.
Expect to hear much more about Fallout 4 as we get closer to its release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on November 10, worldwide.
